There has not been a week that I have not had 2 major items to take care of whether it be two major tests, a test and a project, or a test and a report. By the grace of God alone I have managed to maintain an A in all my classes up to this point, but I'm not sure how I will come out of my finals this time.

It has been a really long time since I posted to this blog, but nothing much other than school has been going on. Therefor, there hasn't been and still is no news to share. Maybe something cool will happen this summer that I can post....

On a side note, for all the old school MGC BSUers, Eric Lane, BSU President 97-98, is getting married on 5-6-06, guess he didn't want to get married on 06-06-06......

Blessings to all......
Friday, January 20, 2006

Just to give an update....

Classes are going great....learning some fairly cool stuff. I am
beginning to see how I will use the stuff I am learning about
accounting, business, and marketing in both a work setting and to help
ministries later on. Amazing how God will put you right where he wants
you to teach you something. I am also having a blast at church, FLM,
and the MGC BSU. Speaking of the MGC BSU, I will be speaking there this
Monday for MNL!! I will probably start working, doing taxes, in
February to make some money--trying to save up for a tabletPC for
school, work, and ministry--and yes a tabletPC will work better for
that than a notebook due to some really cool features available only on
tablets.

OK, that's not much of an update, but I don't have much to share unless
you want me to talk about some boring business, accounting, or
marketing stuff. I do think that everyone who goes into the ministry
should be required to take the core classes for business majors....but
have someone tell them how it is applied to ministry.

Anywayz, here is my inspirational quote for the day...from my sister in Christ:
++++++++

You know,
so often we hear of Christians going overseas and dedicating their
lives to the 'mission field' - and I am thankful for that. But how
often do we look out our back door - in our neighborhoods, our
communities, our states - and reach out to those in our own land?
Sometimes reaching the world isn't found in day-long plane flights or
trips across the borders, but in reaching those right here that can
spread the Word as well. Just like there are forgotten generations,
there are forgotten peoples. Forgotten nations. Forgotten lands. The
poverty and anguish that we see on the tv on the nights we're up at 3am
aren't only in Africa or Indonesia. They're in Montana, South Dakota,
Arizona. They're right here, at our fingertips, but they are forgotten.

There is
burning deep within me to do something. Make a difference. Change a
nation. Give hope to the people who have never known it. And I know
that if God is calling me to that, making it my heart's desire, it will
be done.
--Tulip in GA....aka "Kel"

To see lonely, selfish, empty individuals transformed slowly but surely
into warm, loving, wholesome, and happy people is to become aware of
why Paul describes Christ as "unsearchable riches."

Ray C. Stedman

I just read some of the most terrible (terrifying and
amazing at the same time) information ever. It is amazing how God
answers prayer in His timing, for His Glory, and how it profoundly
changes us--shaking us to the core. I have prayed that God would judge
me quite some time ago....that prayer has been answered this day.

Woe is me, for I am exposed before an awesome, holy, and righteous God in judgement of my character flaws, and wrong thinking.

I had been excited about starting a discipleship ministry in Cochran at
MGC, and it has promises of expanding into Hawkinsville even before it
has really started. All of which is done by the grace and glory of God
alone. How arrogant and prideful I have been to call this my ministry.
I am but the vessel that God has chosen (not because I am worthy, but
because He is full of gace and mercy) to do His ministry--and I
am now terrified at the responsibility. For if I lose the ministry it
is nothing, but if the souls of those entrusted to me are lost to hell,
then I have lost everything.

I now ask that you pray against pride in my life. Pray that I walk in
His Grace cloaked in the mantle of Humility. Pray that I am ever
before Him in Grace and Judgement through the medium of the Holy
Spirit. Pray that we all learn that it is more blessed to give than
receive that we may overcome the lusts of this world, and that we do
everything for His Glory alone.

I am nothing, He is everything. Do not look to me, look to Him--I am
nothing. I am not wise that you should seek my counsel, I am not a
leader that you should follow me, I am a great sinner that deserves
hell, but I have found salvation through His Grace and Mercy on the
Cross--seek Him and follow Him.

Blessings to you all.....

saved by Grace alone

So, I thought my classes were at 8 am this morning...got
up at 6 am to ensure that I had plenty of time to shower, eat
breakfast, get gas in my truck, etc....I get to the college and
suddenly realize my classes are not until 9:30 am--doh!! Oh well, I
should probably try to get used to getting up early to get a parking
space anyway. At least I'm not the only one--I was scheduled to speak
at the BSU on the 16th...which is a holiday. So, I may be speaking on
the 23rd instead--either way I am ready. It's going to be a wonderful
year!!!

More to come later when I have regained my senses....

Thanksgiving was great--I ate way too much food for about 2 weeks. Then
Christmas came, and I ate way too much for another 2 weeks. Christmas
was a real blessing....getting together with the family and watching my
nephews open their toys was the best gift I got.

January 2nd was the next major event. I went to First Love Ministries
in Perry to an impartation service--a service where people in a
particular ministry pray over you if you feel called to the same
ministry. I had people pray for me in the areas of
shepherding/pastoring and teaching, since I am going to be heading up a
discipleship ministry at the MGC BSU.

January 16th will be the next major event--I will be speaking at the
MGC BSU for MNL. If you can make it, please come.....I definitely got a
word from God...was up all night studying and preparing for it last
night, and I'm still chewing on it so to speak.

Well, that's a pretty lengthy update...school starts tomorrow!!!

Blessings to you all....

In all moods and in all seasons pour out the soul in prayer and
supplication with thanksgiving, and if the Spirit groans in
intercession do not be afraid of the agony of prayer. There are
blessings of the Kingdom that are only yielded to the violence of the
vehement soul.
some free time. I strongly suggest that everyone read Pearson's list of
how he takes care of himself and come up with a similar game plan. I
seem to do similar things...take timeout for me and buy things that I
want--within a reasonable amount. I have been crazy busy
lately....living off of TV dinners....I still don't have any real news
to post. Hope to post some after the semester ends.

Blessings to all

Recently I purchased a pretty cool computer game--Guild Wars. It has
free online playing!! and it is great. Not much news on my end....I'll
post more when I have something.

A father and his young daughter were great friends and much in each
other's company. Then the father noted a change in his daughter. If he
went for a walk, she excused herself from going. He grieved about it, but
could not understand. When his birthday came, she presented him with a
pair of exquisitely worked slippers, saying, I have made them for you."
Then he understood what had been the matter for the past three months,
and he said. "My darling, I like these slippers very much, but next time
forget the slippers and let me have you all the days. I would rather
have my child than anything she can make for me." Some of us are so busy
for the Lord that He cannot get much of us. To us He would say, "I know
your works, your labor, your patience, but I miss the first Love."

G. Campbell Morgan

to launch it soon at First Love Ministries in Perry. Today I was
building a computer--go figure--and cut the mess out of my finger on a
sharp piece of case metal. Sorry for the tangent.....thanks to everyone
for their encouragement in the process of trying to start up the
discipleship program. If anyone wants to know more or wants to get
involved, please feel free to contact me.

Here's a good thought to leave you with:

A wise bird knows that a scarecrow is simply an advertisement. It
announces that some very juicy and delicious fruit is to be had for the
picking. There are scarecrows in all the best gardens... If I am wise, I
too shall treat the scarecrow as though it were an invitation. Every
giant in the way which makes me feel like a grasshopper is only a scarecrow
beckoning me to God's richest blessings. Faith is a bird which loves to
perch on scarecrows. All our fears are groundless.

Anonymous

Blessings.....
The prayer I received at First
Love Ministries was great, I had some encouragement at Evergreen
Baptist this morning. I received some encouragement chatting with
friends online. I also had a great time in prayer for about an hour
with my wife from 8 to 9pm--we are both finding ourselves becomming
more disciplined in our walk with Christ. It's been another amazing
day!! I can't wait to see what God has in store tomorrow.

I leave you with this:

A marble cutter, with chisel and hammer, was changing a stone into a
statue. A preacher looking on said: "I wish I could deal such changing
blows on stony hearts." The workman answered: "Maybe you could, if you
worked like me, upon your knees."

Arthur Tappan (A . T ) Pierson

Blessings and Love to all,
